Hours of operation: Tuesday & Friday, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, 7 a.m.-2 p.m.

Puerto Rico is known for its lively entertainment, beautiful landscape and, of course, its delicious food.
Formerly known as Catering by Christina, this Puerto Rican treasure – a branch of Upohar LLC – can be found at Lancaster Central Market every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. According to the market’s website, “’Comida Criolla’ is Puerto Rican food that combines Spanish cooking techniques and local ingredients. Our stand is called Christina’s Criollo, because here you can sample chef/owner Christina Maldonado’s family recipes from Puerto Rico, where we offer breakfast and lunch specials, soup, traditional Puerto Rican desserts as well as Latin-inspired side salads and her signature Sofrito!”

What is sofrito? It’s a staple in Puerto Rican cooking, created by mixing tomatoes, onions, peppers, garlic and herbs into a sauce. Along with Christina’s signature sofrito, guests will also find traditional Puerto Rican dishes, such as a variety of Empanadas, Yellow Rice with Pigeon Peas, Yucca, a number of soups and salads, and desserts, like Flan.

Plus, if you’re entertaining, Christina’s Criollo offers full-service catering for any event.
