On September 25th during York County Watershed Week Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association is hosting the 3rd Annual Dam Bridge Challenge which is a series of 3 different “races” on the Susquehanna River at Lake Clarke starting and finishing at Lock 2 Recreation Area. The main event is a 10 mile paddle. Based on weather conditions and flow, entrants will either go down to the Safe Harbor Dam and back to Lock 2 (10miles) or paddle up the 462 bridge and back to Lock 2 (10 miles). The 2nd event will be a 3.5 mile paddle around Grace Island and back to Lock 2. The 3rd event will be a 1mi paddle from Lock 2 to Fishing Creek and back.

Registration for the 10mi event starts at 8:30am and will commence at 9:30am. Registration for the 3.5 mi event will start at 9:30am with a start time of 10:30am. Registration for the 1mi event will begin at 10:30am with a start time of 11:30am. Walk ins accepted but PREREGISTERING is preferred!

This event will serve as a fundraiser for the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association (LSRA) and an opportunity for our organization to bring together our communities in support of clean water! This event can be as competitive as you’d like it to be. There are some who are competitive and some who just want to paddle and have fun to support our work. Stay for a while after we’ll have a live band, beer, food, and an educational tent for both kids and adults!

Live Band: Boothill Getaway (bluegrass, folk) 12-2PM —-Spaghetti Legs (jam band, funk) 2-4PM.

Grub: Food Truck Lettusknow will be at the event! FREE Beer/Drinks served for participants, friends and family. Invite your friends!

ALL entrants will receive a gift/swag for entering along with prizes for 1st place finishers.

The event is rain or shine but if we suffer from high flow or severe weather that causes unsafe river conditions we must cancel this event. No makeup date. All entrants’ fees are considered and appreciated as donations to the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association which also makes you a member of the organization! You will receive 50% off ticket price for next years event if we must cancel.
